Entrepreneur/Market Day – 31 March 2017 – The Best Market Yet!

The weather was a worry but that was the only concern as we set up for the first market of 2017 – and what a wonderful market it was!  Children – with support from parents and teachers – outdid themselves this term, with delightful stalls from each and every one of them.

Excitement was the order of the day as “customers” walked around, deciding what to buy, what to eat and what games to play.  There was such a selection, many felt hard-pressed to make decisions and if they could have, they would have bought something from each and every stall.

There were acorn/marble necklaces, delectable pecan nut pies, delicious ginger tea, home-made lemonade, shells, funky cupcakes, raffles, innovative bookmarks, designer jewellery – also all home-made; succulents and plants for the garden, home-made ice-cream, delicious rotis, samosas, mini-burgers, fresh hot popcorn – the list is endless! Games included puppet shows, tic-tac-toe, a jumping castle (a huge success with the 3-6-year-olds and manned very well by Graysen Shearer and Brett Roberts from High School), balloon-popping, face-painting and more.  The music was managed very well by our very own James Prain (what a great playlist!).

When it came time to pack up, it happened quickly and efficiently, and everyone said goodbye with much hugging and well-wishing for the holidays.

And – thankfully – we only had one incident requiring first aid from one of our qualified First-Aiders on site – thanks Zain for taking care of the bleeding nose so adeptly.

Thank you, everyone, for a successful 1st term and a delightful market to end it all!  As we heard the children saying as they walked away – that was the BEST ONE YET!
